Travel Hockey
Wallingford Hawks Travel Hockey provides opportunities to play some of the regions most competitive programs. Building on the fundamentals of the LTP/HOUSE instruction Travel Hockey focuses on ADM based skill instruction, while providing opportunities to build lifelong friendships and memories.
Ages
Teams are available Mite (8U) thru Midget (18U). Players should be 5 years of age or older and have completed a season of LTP/HOUSE or comparable instruction.
When
Travel Hockey tryout occur in the Spring for the following season. The regular season runs September to February, culminating with the CHC or CGHL Tournament.
Where
The majority of practices and games will be held at Remsen Rink at Choate Rosemary Hall and the Northford Ice Pavilion.
Practices
Teams practice 2-3 times per week.
Games
Teams will play 20-30 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.
Jerseys
Home and Away jerseys and game socks are required and may be purchased Cheshire Sports.
Tournament Costs
Columbus Day Tournament and CHC Tournament entry fees are included in yearly dues for co-ed CHC teams. Year end CGHL tournament entry is included with girls CGHL teams. Additional Tournaments will be at the discretion of each team and entry cost will be covered by the team.
Discounts
Siblings will receive a discount of $200 off the youngest player.
Girls participating in a Travel Hockey program outside the Wallingford Hawks will receive a $500 dual roster discount.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is USA Hockey membership required?
Yes, all players must have a valid USA Hockey number prior to any on ice participation. USA Hockey membership costs are in addition to the Wallingford Hawks player fees.
